Guide to buying a used car in 2026

Buying a used car can be an excellent financial decision if you know what to look for. In this guide we explain step by step how to avoid surprises.

1. Set your real budget

Don't just look at the purchase price. Also factor in insurance, the transfer of ownership and fuel or electricity.

2. Paperwork in order

We handle the transfer of ownership before handover, and you drive away with the technical data sheet, the sales contract, the warranty documents and the DGT temporary registration permit.

3. See it by appointment

Book an appointment and we'll show it to you calmly, with no rush. Ask us anything you need about the car and what we do to it before handover. You can book an appointment here.

4. Finance

At Plata Garage we arrange the finance with the lender ourselves. Each car's page shows its monthly payment with no down payment, and applying takes 2 minutes. You'll find examples in how much it costs to finance a used car.

5. Warranty and after-sales

All our cars come with a 12-month warranty, written into the contract.

Want to see our catalogue? We have everything from small cars like the Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D to coupés like the Mercedes C-Class Coupé AMG. Take a look at all the available cars or book a visit.
